Biography
Allan Raywas born May 17, 1984 in the Bronx, New York. Recruited out of St. Raymond's High School in New York City, he committed to the Villanova Wildcats in 2001. In his junior season, Ray was named second team all Big East and led the Wildcats in scoring with 16.2 points per game. That year, he also led Villanova to a Sweet 16 berth in the NCAA Tournament. His senior season was arguably Ray's best season as a college player. Villanova tied for the Big East regular season championship with Uconn, and Ray was named to the Big East first team. Also in his senior season, Ray was one of four finalists for the Naismith Award as top college basketball player in the country and a candidate for the Wooden Award. Ray declared for the 2006 NBA Draft, and on July 6, 2006, he signed with the Boston Celtics.
