Biography


Mike Conley Jr. was born October 11, 1987 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Mike Jr. is the son of Rene and Mike Conley Sr. Conley Jr. attended Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he played with close friend and Ohio State teammate Greg Oden. In his four years as the starting point guard at Lawrence North, Mike led the Wildcats to three straight state championships and an amazing 103 wins and 7 losses.  As a senior, he was selected to the McDonald's All-American team, and was later named a Parade Magazine All-American.
 
Following a near flawless high school career, Conley Jr. decided to attend Ohio State University.  In his only collegiate season, he averaged 11.7 points per game and led the Big Ten Conference in assists with 6.1 per game.  His clutch play and ability to run the Buckeye offense earned the school its first appearance in the NCAA National Championship game since 1962. Conley Jr. announced his entry into the 2007 NBA Draft following his freshman season.  He was selected with the 4th overall pick by the Memphis Grizzlies. He averaged a career high 10.9 points and 4.3 assists per game in 2008-09.

Conley is a continuous visitor and supporter of the St.Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis. He also is a host of the Buckeye Stars Youth Basketball Camp in Columbus, Ohio with former college teammates Greg Oden and Daequan Cook.
