Anthony Randolph

Biography


Anthony Randolph was born in Worzbach, Germany, on July 15, 1989 to parents Anthony and Chrystal Randolph.  He attended high school at Serrano High School in Phelan, California, and Little Rock Catholic in Arkansas before playing his final two prep seasons at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas. Randolph averaged 25.8 points and 12.6 rebounds as a senior and 18.2 points and 12.0 rebounds as a junior. He was named Fourth Team All-America by Parade Magazine and earned First Team All-Area honors from the Dallas Morning News.

Anthony Randolph played one season at Louisiana State University, appearing in 31 games and averaging 15.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.13 steals and 2.26 blocks in 32.8 minutes per contest. He earned Honorable Mention All-SEC honors and was named to the 2008 SEC All-Freshman Team along with earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors four times. Randolph was an All-District 8 Second Team selection by the NABC. He was ranked 3rd in the SEC in rebounding, 3rd in blocked shots and 12th in scoring.

Anthony Randolph was selected by the Golden State Warriors as an early entry candidate in the first round, 14th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. He played eight games with the Warriors Summer League team at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City, averaging a combined 19.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.00 blocks in 28.4 minutes per contest. He was named to the All-Rocky Mountain Revue Team after averaging 17.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

In July 2010, Anthony was traded to the New York Knicks.
