Biography

Paul Russell Davis was born July 21, 1984 to parents Joe and Kathy Davis. He attended Rochester High School in Rochester, Michigan. He was a McDonald's All-American in 2002, along with Parade Magazine All-American. Russell was selected to participate in the 2002 EA Sports Roundball Classic, averaging 29.7 points, 13.8 rebounds, 4.1 blocks and 3.8 assists as a senior. He was rated the No. 1 high school player in the nation by Bob Gibbons/All-Star Report in January 2002 as well as the 2002 USA Today Michigan Player of the Year and Second-Team All-American.
    
He later attended Michigan State where he averaged 13.2 points and 7.0 rebounds in 130 games played during his four-year collegiate career.
Paul Davis was selected early in the second round by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2006 NBA draft. In the post, he’s one of the most creative prospects drafted in 2006 and really knows how to use his body to establish position underneath the glass. His intelligence and experience as a four-year college player is very evident. He knows how to get the most out of what physical gifts he has. That polish, as well as his work ethic, made him one of the most NBA-ready prospects in the drafted. Paul is a fundamentally sound big man who can play with his back to the basket or facing. Paul has a strong competitive drive and possesses decent athletic skills.
