Michael Conley, Sr.
Mike Conley,
Sr. adds his expertise in the business and sporting world to BDA Sports
Management, joining the firm in 2007. As
part of BDA sports, he represents clients including the number 1, 4 and 21st picks in the 2007th NBA Draft, Greg Oden of the Portland Trail
Blazers, Michael Conley Jr of the Memphis Grizzlies and Daequan Cook of the
Miami Heat. He also represents the 19th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft,
Jeff Teague of the Atlanta Hawks.
Mike’s love
of sport has been engrained in his life for more than 35 years. He is a Illinois High School State basketball champion and a
3-time Footlocker Slam Dunk champion. Mike played basketball one year at the
University of Arkansas before concentrating solely on track and field where he won 9 NCAA
titles. Mike later excelled in track
& field, accomplishing the ultimate feat by winning an Olympic Gold Medal
in the triple jump.
After
competing for over 20 years, Mike went on to become Executive Director of Elite
Athlete’s Programs at the national governing office for USA Track and Field and
Mike is the founder, and former CEO of the Professional Athletic Association, (a
union representing track and field athletes).
In addition
to representing NBA players, Mike, was President of World Sport Chicago,
overseeing long term project management and efforts to promote the development
and exposure of Olympic sports across Chicago.
Mike has received numerous accolades for both his business and athletic
accomplishments. He recently received the prestigious “Master of the Game
Award,” from the National Sports Law Institute.
Mike and his
wife Regina live in Fayetteville, Arkansas
with three of their four children.
