Forward Chase Budinger was named to participate in the Sprite Slam Dunk championship on Feb. 25.

Five years ago as a high-schooler, Chase Budinger was voted the best volleyball player in the nation. YouTube still sings of his legendary play for La Costa Canyon in Encinitas, California. But when he chose the University of Arizona for college, basketball became his sole focus.
Due to the lockout, Chase was able to return to his volleyball roots at the Corona Light Wide Open beach tournament in Hermosa Beach, California. Budinger was very competitive with his partner, Dane Jensen, and was impressive throughout the competition.
