Grizzlies’ PG Mike Conley Finding Groove
He’s not Derrick Rose and he’s not Chris Paul. But you know what? That’s not the right comparison for Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley and it never was.
The Grizzlies spent a first-round draft pick (fourth overall) on Conley in the 2007 NBA Draft. And granted, early returns were not encouraging. Conley Looks to Build on Last Season’s Success
During Mike Conley’s short career in Memphis, there have been many highs and lows. In the 2007 NBA Draft, Conley was drafted fourth overall and was expected to help jumpstart a faltering franchise. The smooth lefty from Ohio State has steadily improved each season.
Conley faced criticism in the early part of his career for inconsistent play. GM Chris Wallace offered a contract extension to Conley. Conley agreed to a contract extension that gave him the keys to the Grizzlies to play the point guard position for the next five seasons.
